ATTICA VOTED “PASSENGER LINE OF THE YEAR” IN LLOYD’S LIST GREEK SHIPPING AWARDS 2020

Attica Group, parent company of SUPERFAST FERRIES, BLUE STAR FERRIES and HELLENIC SEAWAYS, has been awarded

“PASSENGER LINE OF THE YEAR”

in the Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards 2020 which are intended to honor individuals’ and companies’ achievements from the Greek shipping community. The judging panel of the awards comprised from impartial experts of the industry representing different sectors of Greek shipping.

The announcement of the winners was made online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, on Friday, December 4, 2020 in an impressive virtual ceremony. The award was received by the CEO of Attica Group Mr. Spiros Paschalis.

Attica Group was awarded for successfully dealing with the health issues of COVID-19 pandemic on its ships, carrying over 2.4 million passengers since the start of the pandemic, the result of the tireless efforts of its more than 2,000 employees on shore and at sea. Bureau Veritas has certified each of Attica’s vessels with the SAFEGUARD label for implementing special measures and procedures to prevent infections and address the biological hazards caused by COVID-19, aiming to protect human life.

Attica Group was also honored for the uninterrupted service of connecting mainland Greece with the islands during the pandemic, ensuring the transport of local residents and essential goods to the islands, thus contributing to the territorial continuity and social cohesion of the country. Finally, Attica Group was distinguished for its commitment to responsibility and sustainability issues and its focus on social welfare.

Attica Group operates a fleet of 32 vessels under the brand names of SUPERFAST FERRIES, BLUE STAR FERRIES, HELLENIC SEAWAYS and AFRICA MOROCCO LINK offering high quality and reliable transportation services for passengers and cargo with modern and technologically advanced vessels.
